Join us for our next Envirorun Lincoln Speaker Series event in October!

The Envirorun Lincoln Speaker Series will focus on Environmental Policy & Politics this month. This edition of the series features local leaders in an exciting panel discussion on local environmental policies, including topics such as the evolution of policymaking — from community engagement, policy framing, policy review and approval, policy implementation and more.

Our Speaker Series is designed to provide an opportunity to connect with the environmental community, with light refreshments and a casual atmosphere and it all takes place at the Turbine Flats (2124 Y St) Art Gallery!

Featured Speakers

John Cartier, J.D.
Director of Voting Rights at Civic Nebraska

John Cartier is an attorney and graduate of University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law. John works on securing voting rights for all individuals at Civic Nebraska, and has experience working on several elections including his own for Lincoln Board of Education. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, John moved to Nebraska in 2010 to attend Concordia University on a track and field scholarship where he studied marketing and journalism.

When not working, John enjoys spending time with his wife, son and cat. Occasionally, he can be found jogging along the beautiful MoPac Trail in Lincoln. Spare moments are spent chipping away at his personal goal to read a biography on every United States President.

Dr. Jenny Dauer
Assistant Professor of Science Literacy at the UNL School of Natural Resources

Jenny Dauer is an Assistant Professor in the School of Natural Resources at UNL and spends much of her professional time thinking about how to transform college classes to help develop undergraduate students’ science literacy skills. In her personal life she enjoys running, cooking, playing ukulele with her husband, and chasing after her two small sons around the house.

Frank Uhlarik
City of Lincoln’s Administrator of Sustainability and Compliance

Frank Uhlarik currently serves as the City of Lincoln’s Administrator of Sustainability and Compliance. He has a Geological Engineering Degree from the Colorado School of Mines and over 30 years of experience in environmental restoration, regulatory compliance and sustainability planning.
